Board of “Rīgas satiksme” approved unaudited financial report for 2018
The Board of “Rīgas satiksmes” approved unaudited financial report for the year 2018 and published it on the company’s website at www.rigassatiksme.lv. The unaudited abridged interim financial report for the year 2018 includes the statement of the company’s management. It was prepared in compliance with the requirements of the regulations and laws in force and presents the company’s assets, liabilities, financial situation and profit or losses.
In 2018, the total income of “Rīgas satiksme” amounted to EUR 184.6 million, an increase of EUR 7 million on the year 2017. Income from public transport services increased by EUR 0.8 million or 1.8%, income from parking services in 2018 reached EUR 13.6 million, an increase of EUR 1.1 million or 9.1% on 2017. The growth of other incomes by EUR 5.1 million accounted for an increase in the funding provided by the state and Riga municipality. In 2018, the average number of “Rīgas satiksme” employees was at 4026, and their average monthly salary before taxes amounted to EUR 1104 (EUR 1046 in 2017).
In 2018, the company’s operating costs amounted to EUR 174.2 million, a 7.7% increase on 2017. In 2018, compared to 2017, there was an increase in costs of labour, fuel, depreciation charges and other expenditures. According to the data of the unaudited report, “Rīgas satiksme” ended the year 2018 with EUR 6,307,382 in losses.
As on December 31, 2018, “Rīgas satiksme” operated 56 bus routes, 17 trolleybus routes and 8 tram routes, the total length of the routes reaching 1201.2 km, including: bus routes with the total length of – 949.1 km, tram routes with the total length of 101.4 km, and trolleybus routes with the total length of 150.7 km. At the end of the period, “Rīgas satiksme” ran a fleet of 873 public transport vehicles, including 457 buses, 172 tramcars and 253 trolleybuses.
In 2018, “Rīgas satiksme” served 6 612 pay parking lots, an increase of 623 if compared to the end of 2017. In 2018, the total number of users in pay parking lots increased by 656.8 thousand, if compared to 2017, and reached 5862.4 thousand users.
In 2018, passenger transport of “Riga satiksme” carried 139 918.5 thousand passengers, up 1.9% on 2017.
